What a Level 2 Electrician Does
A level 2 electrician is authorised to work on the electrical infrastructure that connects a property to the electricity network. This work goes beyond the scope of a standard electrician and requires additional accreditation due to the safety risks involved.
As an accredited level 2 ASP electrician, Better Electrical Co is authorised to interact with live or semi-live network assets, including service lines, consumer mains, and points of attachment. This ensures work is completed lawfully and accepted by network providers.
Level 2 electrical work commonly involves power supply connections and disconnections, repairs to overhead and underground service lines, consumer mains replacement, private power pole installation, and urgent meter isolations. Because of the risks involved, this work must always be completed by an ASP Level 2 electrician.
In some properties, Level 2 electrical work is required as part of switchboard upgrades when the existing supply or consumer mains are no longer compliant or capable of supporting modern electrical demand.
